Jessica Mosely grew up on a cattle property in far western NSW. Cobar was the nearest town, 100 kilometres away. This early experience provided her with a unique environment which has grounded her story and ignited a love for agriculture. Exposure to the hardships and successes of a rural property also developed a long-lasting passion for agribusiness financial systems and the regeneration of natural system to not only increase productivity but fulfil the role of generational land stewards.
Jess is a student leader and an academic over achiever, culminating in her achieving an ATAR of 98.50 in 2021. This was driven by a passion for Business Studies. She was placed 9th in the state for this subject and 1st for Economics and Business Studies at Kinross. This resulted in her receiving the Orange Mutual Credit Union Prize for Commerce in 2021, just one of many Awards for Academic Excellence and good character Jess received between 2016 and 2021. Other awards included the Howard W Small Memorial Prize for Effort in 2019, a prize for Effort in Academic Studies and the prestigious Ina W. Miller Prize for Courtesy in 2021.
Jess’s experiences at Marcus Oldham College have been life changing and critical to her ongoing development. She is a positive change agent and will be an industry leader. Her career will contribute to a better Australia. Her goal is to contribute to strategic advisory and consultancy roles within key agricultural organisations. Above everything, Jess will retain a connection to the red soil of western NSW, the people who supported her unconditionally, and the industry she loves.
