Thomas Henchliffe is a keen debater and public speaker, a talented jazz and rock music drummer, a competitive sailor, a proactive environmentalist, a Evett Model UN participant, a community volunteer, a climber, an editor, and an academically gifted IB student. In his senior year at PAC, he was appointed College Co-Vice Captain.
Thomas has made exceptional contributions to the academic, co-curricular, pastoral and spiritual life of Prince Alfred College. He was awarded the Headmaster's Medal in 2024, the highest possible student award, for his commitment, service and leadership to PAC.
Thomas’s courage in dealing with a critical incident in the 2024 sailing program was unprecedented, and he most likely saved a young man's life. His modesty in the days afterwards spoke volumes about his character.
Thomas indeed is a young man of excellent character and someone who not only has great empathy and compassion but is selfless in his actions. He always puts the needs of others before his own. He is a leader and person of substance. He was awarded the Year twelve Special Prize for Character, Service and Leadership in 2024.
Thomas believes his Bachelor of International Security Studies and subsequent Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree, commencing in 2026, will assist him to tackle complex legal problems, learn more about the foundation of our society and how to advocate on behalf of others.
